Nevertheless, if so, it's an interesting marketing decision. Perhaps the idea is to market first and primarily to people who've never tried the game and dramatically bump the player base with Chapter 4. Such arrangements were very common in the 1950's, for example, between car companies and large advertising firms.
Does that sound antiquated and a tad irrelevant? It is. It's 2007 and they need to market concurrently to both their existing players as well those who haven't played before. We are their primary source for "word of mouth," which is now fundamental.
I deeply enjoy GW and find the game continually interesting and challenging. I hope and expect their marketing to rise to the high level of competency and creativity set by the game development team. For reference, they might want to examine some Internet marketing case studies, just as a noob Harvard MBA would when faced with the challenge.

Posting the article in its entirety would be a copy right violation. You will either have to pick up the issue at a newstand or rely on the pieces of info that get posted here.

It is absolutely legal having bits of the information posted here, not the entire article though.

I wonder if we'll get another mini pet from PC Gamer magazine for Chapter 4?

*looks at clock and goes "gahh...theres so much time and I wanna know now" *
It'll definatly be about chapter four, nothing else worth reading in a well known maganzine. Its definatly not going to be about skill changes or HA updates, its going to be about Ch4.
Question is....who will I have to kill to get the magazine in my local grocery store so I can read it?
Anyways...its a ways off, but I'm glad PC Gamer is a well known enough mag for this to be legit.

I dont see any good reason for anet to keep all this info secret.Ch4 should way beyond planning stage. If they are making this just cause of the silly magazine deal then they are too greedy and itll be their loss.

Of course it's past the planning stage; but they'll announce it when they feel the time is right. Maybe they want to keep the suspense up and surprise us a bit. They're not greedy and I don't see how it's anyone's loss.

Magazines are alway a month or so ahead of the current month. Subscribers may get their edition a week or so in advance.
